Yes! At the heart of the Chef Gustavo brand is Chef Gustavo Chávez, Executive Chef at Baja Foods for the past 15 years. A native of Michoacán, Mexico, Gustavo’s passion for culinary excellence stems from his childhood spent learning from his father before immigrating to the U.S. at age 13. His career flourished as he trained under renowned chefs, becoming the youngest manager at California’s iconic El Torito chain. A charismatic entrepreneur and TV personality, Gustavo earned nationwide fame with over 100 television appearances, earning the moniker “El Chile Mayor” (“The Big Chile”). He has collaborated with leading brands like Mazeca, Jarritos, Herdez, and Hormel, and now brings his signature touch of authenticity to kitchens nationwide with the launch of Chef Gustavo.
